The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic took its seat at the Official Presentation of the African Union Strategy for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in the African Union Headquarters in New York. The Saharawi’s Writer, Journalist, and SAUSA member Agaila Abba was the representing the Saharawi Republic and people at large.

The meeting was at its highest level, attended by disguised African’s delegates from countries such as Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Algeria and many more.

The presentation was opened by Ambassador Fatima Kyari Mohamed Head of the African Mission in New York, other delegates followed with different key noted discussion, among them were the Ambassadors of Australia, Sweden, Canada and the Republic of Ghana.

Among delegates were not only Ambassadors, but also Ministers and Doctors either working on different Gender’s equality projects or specialized on a such crucial issue that is affecting the entire African continent.

During the meeting, the Saharawi’s met delegates from different parts of Africa, the presentation isn’t only crucial for the representation of the Saharawi Republic, but also for the Saharawi women and their voices.

On a final note, the meeting was closed by Dr. Maya Mohamed Morsy, President of the National Council of Women in the Arab Republic of Egypt, ending her discussion with the following quote “ African women can, and will get things done”
